About
Message exchange is a vital component of systems integration. Mind Over Messaging is a blog focused mainly on Microsoft’s stack of middleware platforms, including BizTalk Server, Azure Integration Services, Service Fabric and related technologies. Like most bloggers, I’ll be writing about my experiences using these products throughout the course of my role as an Integration Architect.
My qualifications? I’m a Microsoft MVP in Azure, a Microsoft Certified Solution Expert (MCSE) in Cloud Platform, a Microsoft Certified Azure Developer (MCPD), and a Microsoft Certified Technical Specialist (MCTS) in BizTalk Server. I’m also a Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT) and a published Pluralsight author. During my 22+ years of experience in the Australian IT industry, I’ve helped a number of large private and government organisations solve their enterprise integration problems using these technologies. Prompted by Microsoft, I founded the Brisbane BizTalk User Group in 2005, and took over leadership of the the Brisbane Azure User Group in 2014. In addition to presenting at many user group sessions, I have been a speaker at special events like INTEGRATE (London & USA), PolarConf (Finland), Ignite Australia, Global Azure Bootcamp and Xamarin DevDays. Currently I work as a Specialist Senior Lead for the Platform Engineering team at Deloitte.
In addition to my “geek” side, I’m also an ex-musician who once made a living as a symphonic trombonist! Since becoming a father to a beautiful daughter, I don’t have much time for the “ol’ sliphorn” these days, but I do stay involved in the music ministry of my local church by playing piano.
If you really want to know more about me, please check out my LinkedIn profile. You can also view several of my presentations on SlideShare as well as my webcasts hosted on the BrizTalk YouTube Channel. And of course you can always have a look at my Pluralsight courses!
